songwriting begins from lived experiences of the world around her, which they then take             and shape into vibrant three-minute songs blending rock, pop, soul, reggae, and afrobeat.

A native of the diverse working-class neighborhoods of West London, Torilena was influenced by a mix of music from a young age. Their musical training began with classical piano, but once they caught the rock music bug, there was no turning back!

Over the years, Torilena honed their craft through countless gigs, from showbands that funded her studies, to the London pub rock scene. After moving to San Francisco in 2000, they were a co-founder of Lipstick Conspiracy, one of the first all-trans female rock bands, receiving notable regional recognition. They then went on to release their debut solo EP - Stories - in 2023, and perform regularly around the Bay Area.

Torilena is currently working on their second EP - Reveries - in the Lady Cave Studios, due to be released early 2026!
